Legendary Shack Shakers - Pledge Music Campaign

"2015 will see the Legendary Shack Shakers celebrating our 20th anniversary as a band. To commemorate, we wish to record an album that returns us to the lo-fi roots that first won us attention with 2002’s "Cockadoodledon’t”. However, this album isn’t just about rehashing our past…

This time around, Colonel JD Wilkes’ notorious Southern Gothic style will slither toward surrealistic new extremes. There will be ear-worming “murder boogies”, tunes and tales about jack knives, woodpeckers, The Mothman, buzzards and bells, dinosaur bones, beards of bees, and secret mountains.

We will strive to create an atmosphere we’ve never quite visited before, all while remaining true to the sweaty, lo-fi roots of the Shack Shakers. Expect heavy sonic licks and moments of both mayhem AND mystery. We’ll traverse everything from acoustic hillbilly rave-ups (think lots of banjo, harmonica, and washboard percussion) to electric, heavy-grooving anthems (with thumpin’ bass, heavy-hitting Hammond organ and horns) to acoustic ballads that may just haunt you forever! This album will pulse with the greasy throb of a Saturday night juke joint….

Legendary Shack Shakers are ready to take you on a journey through “The Southern Surreal”. Our fans are the best and we want to include all of you in the creative process. We’ll give contributors an inside look at the recording and production of the new record by sending Pledger-only updates consistently throughout…video and photos from the studio, teasers of new songs and much more. Please help us write the New Testament of our next 20 years!"
